One would think that after the country elected a president that was born and raised in Hawaii, the islands would finally be considered in the national consciousness, and NOAA would include the Central Pacific area in their Hurricane Tracker... But apparently even though weddings are historically held in the summer, and Hawaii is a major destination for vacations and honeymoons, in addition to the afore mentioned presidents home stomping grounds, the 50th state is still not worthy of being included.
I realize the Gulf state deal with hurricanes a lot more frequently than Hawaii does but we watch every storm that forms in the Pacific as the chances of it affecting us is fairly significant, even if it isnt a hurricane by the time. It reaches us... And on the rare occasion it does reach us as a hurricane, the damage is typically devastating.
Shame on you, NOAA, for not including the Central Pacific in your app. I am very disappointed.
